Apple computer, paper, printer, string

I took a chapter and wanted to see which words the author was using the most. The words which are the brightest are the most common. The data was fed into a custom program written in Java. The printed graphical output was generated via the Java based programming language Processing. Excerpts from the programme are written by hand around the edge of the book which is usually reserved for space. By inverting the use of space and handing it over to code the piece is following the lead of space in contemporary life which is increasingly being defined and regulated by code. The string is a literal example of the thread which ties art to everyday life.
